Episode 215: Sarah Bragg

A lot can happen in a week! We went from a normal week in March to quarantine in a matter of days. Emotions are high and anxieties are high especially in light of the unknown. We don’t know how long this will be. We don’t know what the fall out will be. I had a friend reach out and ask that I address how to survive quarantine.

We’ve been in the middle of a relationship series and I guess this episode will fit right in with how to not kill each other before the quarantine ends. So I asked my family to join me around the table to talk about what they are feeling and thinking. Then, I share a few tips to help you survive being quarantined.

Takeaways:

  • Tips to Survive Quarantine:

  • Change your mindset. It will be hard but you can do hard things. It will be okay.

  • Set realistic expectations - everyone being home will not be easy. Working from home while helping your kids do distance learning will be hard. Pare down what needs to happen. Cut goals in half. Let yourself feel little victories.

  • Take Care of Yourself:

    • Imaginary Smoke breaks - remove yourself / take a long drag aka breathe in and out

    • Get outside

    • Go for a drive

    • Limit social media and news

    • Meditation

    • Journal

    • Read

    • Grounding

    • Walk (and talk)

    • Sleep
